It all began the summer of 1970 as RAM Industries in Elkhart, Indiana. RAM manufactured aluminum truck caps out a small garage. Then in July of 1975 a decision was made to supply a generic line of fiberglass truck covers to other wood and aluminum manufacturers and distributors; such as Leer, Jason, Galaxie, Eagle, Hop Cap, and others to be sold under their own labels. This arrangement proved extremely successful for everyone. Over the years 20th Century developed and refined a superb manufacturing process, with advanced designs and service that were highly accepted by the retail buyer. However, the relationship between 20th Century and the retail customer remained a secret.
A decision was made to tell the secret of the "Century Brand", thereby giving Century's distributors identity with the factory and each other nationally. This along with their strengthened sales effort and dealer force nationwide has kept them ahead..."A Century Ahead" of the competition.
The century story did not end there. Century has maintained a high standard of cap manufacturing that started clear back in the beginning with RAM. Century Fiberglass now employs over 200 people, 25% of which are 11-31 year employees. They have remain committed to their 425+ dealers, their retail customers, and their employees. |
